Description: Reproduction WW 2 US Army shoulder tab. 6th Ranger Battalion. Machine embroidered on black Melton wool. Size is 3 1/2 x 1 1/2 inches. Formed in Sept 1944 in New Guinea. Fought in the Philippines starting in October 44, it is most famous for its rescue ot the us POWs at Cabanatuan, Luzon. After some occupation duty in Japan, the unit was disbanded in December of 45.
