He was the US Secretary of Commerce and Labor under President Theodore Roosevelt from 1906-1909. He ran unsuccessfully for the Governor of New York in 1912. His brother, Isidor Straus, died about the RMS Titanic in 1912. This pinback button measures 13/16" across. It pictures Straus and says "FOR GOVERNOR OSCAR S. STRAUS".
