Description: Based on my research this pin is likely from around 1910, although it may be earlier as the date shown on the back of the pin indicates 1890s. My research indicates that Mr Licking ran a successful campaign to become sheriff. He was mentioned in an October 1916 publication called "Prison Efficacy in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania" which within the York County Prison (York) section stated "The last incumbent of the office of sheriff was W. C. Licking, who, with his wife, collected a library of 500 volumes for the use of the convicts." This pinback measures approximately 7/8 inch diameter but the pin sticks out further. Condition is "Pre-owned" with light wear on the front and the metal back and pin completely darkened. Please see photos and message me with any questions. Photo props not included in sale. Shipped with USPS Ground Advantage. Please inquire about combined shipping for purchase of multiple items at one time.
