Description: Antique late Victorian to early 1900’s Edwardian gold filled cowrie shell necklace. Minor surface scratches and some tarnishing present due to preowned condition. Some discoloration of the adhesive used to hold the shells on the chain can be seen on all shells. Spring ring clasp operates well and is secure. Marked 1/20 12k on clasp. Both chain and clasp have been xrf tested to confirm gold fill; see last photo for metal analysis. Jump rings on the shell pendants are base metal. Necklace measures 18”.
