Description: Berta Sherwood was an artist of longstanding accomplishment, a brief bio is included below. She was born in 1916 and died in 1997, considered both an Illinois and Wisconsin artist, exhibiting more broadly in the Midwest. She attended Broadmore Art Academy, graduated from Colorado College and also attended the Art Institute of Chicago. When living in Racine, WI, she was associated with the Wustum Art Museum, where she taught and held workshops in watercolor. She had many awards over her lifetime, and was a member of the Wisconsin Watercolor Society and other community groups. This unique watercolor focuses on the Blue Wing Teal decoy resting on a shoreline. It is dated 1985, and signed in the facing lower right. The image measures approx 13 3/4" x 11 1/2", in a undamaged black metal frame that measures approx 20" x 16". It has the remnant of her card/label on the back, and is ready to hang.
