Description: My 1,327th most played album. Billy Squier - Enough Is Enough. The fifth studio album was released on September 27, 1986. Peaked at #61 on the charts sold 300,000 in America. "Love Is the Hero" which featured Freddie Mercury on backing vocals should have been a big hit but peaked at #80! "Lady with a Tenor Sax" got airplay and should have been a hit co-written with Freddie Mercury. "Shot o' Love" is another great song. This is a great album! My 5th most played Billy Squier behind; Don’t say No, 16 Strokes (Greatest Hits), Emotions In Motion and Signs Of Life. This is an interesting album. While most of Squier's albums were either bombastic arena rock or edgy punk rock, this might be his most pop album ever. Squier was clearly trying to make a come back after his career took a serious hit from that one video. That being said, it gives this album a super glossy yet at the same time edgy 1980s feel that makes it the definition of 1980s rock and roll camp. I can think of few albums now a days with more of a camp/cult feel than this one particularly during his slow ballads that seem to drift in and out and a couple of songs where he sounds like he bounces between out of it and frantically frenetic. If you want to hear an album made by somebody who was declining but frantically trying to stay at the top anyway, then this is the album for you. Dark, but also incredibly interesting.
