Description: Brenda HollowayHits & Rarities CD (1998) Brenda Holloway made Motown history with 1964's Every Little Bit Hurts, which provided Berry Gordy's label with its first chart placing product produced in Los Angeles. An LP followed, establishing Holloway's expertise at sensual, sublime balladry, but it was when her rich tones were paired with Smokey Robinson's pen that she really shone bright on the 1965 singles When I'm Gone and Operator (the former a sophisticated, silky track initially intended to open her shelved second LP, and the latter track eclipsing Mary Wells's version). This compilation features 28 tracks and includes some of Holloway's best known songs along with other harder to find tracks. Excellent pre-owned condition. Case is clean and undamaged.
