Description: This 26 inch saw is marked Henry Disston & Sons on the early sunken medallion as well as a stamped12 for 12 ppi. I see a broken tooth right at the heel. It is very close to letting me call it straight, has one of those slight gentle bows that can look straight if you lean it to the side a little while sighting down the teeth, not perfect but far from ruined, about any decent saw Dr. could tune it up for use. That said the five patent dates on the handle make this an early version of what may be the most iconic hand saw model ever made so maybe a spot on the wall would be best. The etch is faint but there, plenty of etching from drops of sweat testify to the saw being used with some effort. For information on old tools the resources at Mid West Tool Collectors Association are top notch. They have links collected there for everything antique tool related.https://mwtca.org/useful-reference/ Make sure to check out my other items, I will combine shipping just wait for the invoice. I am in a selling mood, it's not Christmas yet but schit has to go, offers is set to let me see offers that I don't think I'll take, might change my mind..........
