Huge Industrial Hedralite Ceiling Light from Holophane, 1920s. UNIQUE!!

Description: HUGE! Made up of TWENTY FIVE prismatic glass sections, this ceiling lantern known as the Hedralite is an extremely rare find! Beautiful quality. The lantern comes with four ceiling chains (not original) and four lights, wired and ready to hang. Holophane glass was invented in the 1890’s and comes in a range of shapes and sizes giving different types of illumination. The glass shades are clear molded glass with parallel or crosscut prisms. Provenance: This magnificent and rare lamp was acquired in a important auction house in Uruguay. Previously, the owner was a person who lived in Argentina and the lamp was imported from England to Argentina in the beginning of 20th Century. Origin: English Date: Circa 1920.
