Description: Here’s your chance to own a painting done by a Princess. This Watercolor with India ink on cream-colored Japan paper painting was painted by Princess María del Pilar von Bayern. Signed land dated and titled on the bottom right dated: Pilar v. Bayern 1960. The painting is in very good condition. Frame and matted in the original frame. To conserve this precious gem I would have this painting rematted due to the old acidic paper . The image size 12 by 18 inches . Frame size is 21 by 26 inches. Maria del Pilar of Bavaria ( 1891-1987) was the daughter of Prince Ludwig Ferdinand of Bavaria (1859-1949) and Maria de la Paz, Infanta of Spain (1862-1946). She received her training as a painter from Hans von Bartels, Willi Geiger and Viktoria Zimmermann. She was a member of the Professional Association of Visual Artists and the Old Munich Artists 'Cooperative (royally privileged artists' cooperative from 1868).
