This book was published by Viking in 1942 and is a first edition/first printing with the original first state jacket. The book and jacket are in fair condition. The jacket flaps have been glued to the inside boards and a portion of the jacket along the spine has been laminated. There are chips and tears along the jacket extremities. The original $3.00 price remains with no mentioning of this book being a Pulitzer Prize winner. The original January, 1942 printing information is present on the copyright page. Please look over all pictures before bidding. A fine copy of this book will fetch over $5,000 so I’m offering this book for an opening bid of just $125 with a buy it now option. I feel that this book could be made very nice with some professional book restoration, or it can be a cheap alternative to paying thousands of dollars for a really nice copy of this book.
