Description: Vintage 1940's Add-a-Pearl Necklace. 14K. 10 cultured pearls including center larger pearl. 13-1/4" chain including clasps. One very small knot in chain as shown in photo. No box. This was necklace was given to me in the late 40's with a pearl added every year on my birthday until age of 10. The nationally known Add-A-Pearl Necklace was originated in 1915 by Juergens and Andersen Company. This trademarked item quickly blossomed into a popular gift item for baby girls as it was an economical way for a girl to assemble a natural pearl necklace over the course of time, a valuable and cherished keepsake which became a timeless tradition embraced throughout America.
