Description: Vintage Eiki Portable Cassette Tape Recorder Player 5090A 6 HP Ports Tested VIDEO. Here’s what I know about this machine. I replaced the belt for fast forward/rewind as well as for the counter. Both now work well. Play works as does Pause. NOTE: The counter does work but the button for resetting it is missing. As you see in the video I used a small screwdriver (not included) to reset it and that works fine. But again the reset button is missing. I was able to record something using the built-in microphone. I also tried to use a simple microphone that I plugged into the jack on the front and got a recording that was very low and poor quality. It really wasn’t the right microphone for this machine. I was able to plug in something into the Aux-in jack on the front and was able to record. Not sure what the ALC or PA buttons on the top do so they are not tested. There are six headphone jacks on the side. One is missing a little silver piece. I tested all of them and was able to hear sound on all of them out of one side only on the headphones. I think that’s because this is a mono device. I did not try the external speaker jack on the side. The battery compartment is clean but I did not test whether the tape player works on battery power. I only tested it on the supplied AC cord. See pictures for condition. This has some wear, scuffs, and other marks. Overall in good shape. Sold as is. Sorry but no returns on this vintage item. David
