Description: This 7 1/4" female doll's folk costume is from the harad or parish of Frosta in the province of Skane. Her apron is a woven authentic pattern from this harad. This sort of costume is from the 18th to 19th centuries.The doll is attached to a wooden base that is 3/4" tall, making the doll seem taller than she is. These dolls are made with a wire frame, around which a foam material is wrapped for stuffing. The many details, as a walking stick, violins and bows, wooden shoes and the sewn cloth parts are all hand made. This is an older doll, but very clean without flaws. This artist was very popular internationally from the 1950's to about the 1990's, but the dolls are still being sought after by numerous collectors.
